Bristol City Council has an enviable record on e-democracy – and has shared experience with others in a guide to methods.Carol Hayward has been leading work in this field for a few years, and at the e-democracy 07 conference I asked her about recent developments. She was open about what had worked well – and not so well. One interesting development was that the Viewfinder project, designed to encourage young people to create their own content for consultations, had an appeal across a much wider age range.Carol also explained that Bristol are now concentrating on integrating their various e-democracracy oferings in one portal, and also touched on how far councillors and officials are prepared to join in.
