Less Than Half Of Us Work Traditional Office Hours
Research news published: Tuesday 18th September 2007
Just under half of us - some 47 per cent - now work five days per week in the same office, according to a recent poll of visitors to the Headstar website.
The results indicate that our working arrangements are becoming ever more flexible, with people working in different locations and alternative hours to the traditional 9 to 5 schedule. The recent poll of almost 200 website visitors - many of whom work int he public sector - shows that our homes are increasingly becoming places of work.
Some 16 per cent of participants work part-time in an office and part-time at home, while 15 per cent work full-time at home. Almost 7 per cent work full-time hours that are split between an office, the home, and mobile working.
Perhaps surprisingly, just 2.5 per cent split full-time hours between mobile working and work in an office. Some 6 per cent work part-time in an office only, while 4 per cent work part-time at home only.
In January 2008 Headstar will be running our next annual event on flexible and mobile working in the public sector. Watch this site for more info, or contact:
