Mobile Working in Local Government: A valuable learning day

Mobile working in local government 2009, Headstar's annual event on the use of new technologies to enable mobile and flexible working in UK councils, took place in central London last November.

More than 50 councils attended, and early feedback was that delegates found our unique mix of plenary sessions; round-table discussions; and one-to-one meetings with peers and suppliers to be hugely valuable.

We are grateful to our sponsors, Box Technologies and Damovo, and our exhibitors BT Smartnumbers, NDL and Web-Labs.

Our keynote speaker Professor James Woudhuysen set the scene with an entertaining and enlightening gallop through the mobile technologies of the future, and how they are likely to affect local government. Other sessions covered the business case and other drivers behind mobile and flexible working; compelling case studies; and green issues.

Powerpoint presentations from the day will be appearing shortly on the conference website. coverage will also appear in due course in E-Government Bulletin and on E-Government Bulletin Live. Thanks to all of you who came along and contributed to a fantastic day.
