Open Data, Crowdsourcing Top Agenda At Future Democracy '10

The UK's leading event on the use of the internet, mobile phones and other new technologies in politics, consultation and democracy, Future Democracy '10, was another major success.

Key debating topics at the December event included 'crowdsourcing' of public policy; mobile apps for democracy; electronic petitions; open data and the Big Society; and online political campaigns.

Supporters in 2010 included the Hansard Society; mySociety.org; the Society of IT Management (Socitm); Involve; the RSA; and the European Commission-backed e-participation network of which Headstar is a founder member, PEP-NET. Exhibitors included the Bertelsmann Foundation, Public-i, Delib, rol and Race Online 2012.
